You know how you end up in a meeting about something really important, and you spend the majority of the time talking about very minor things? Congratulations - you've participated in a bikeshedding exercise! We Product people like to solve complex problems, but often we get distracted by trivial matters - like what color to paint the bikeshed when building a new nuclear reactor. When we engage in such conversations, we need to stay focused - and keep our fellow stakeholders focused - so we can solve big problems and create products our customers love.
